“Field of Play: 60 Years of NFL Photography” is PUBLISHED BY CAMERON + COMPANY
Photographer Michael Zagaris worked extensively with picture editor Steve Fine in June of 2021 to begin narrowing down his collection of 60 years of NFL photography for this project. The dining room table of Z’s home in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco was the book headquarters for awhile as Cameron + Company publisher Chris Gruener and creative director Iain Morris visited Z and the photographs over the summer of 2021. In the fall of 2021 the operation was moved to to the Cameron + Company office in Petaluma, California. Work on Field of Play continued in Petaluma throughout the winter of 2021 until the final proofs were delivered to Z in San Francisco by Iain in February of 2022. The book was released on October 4, 2022.
